Terms of Service

Last updated: August 10, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of CalScribe, a service that turns children’s activity schedules into calendar events, operated by Lisa Rickles as an individual (“CalScribe,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using CalScribe, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

What CalScribe does

CalScribe reads a schedule you provide — typed text and/or an uploaded photo or PDF — and suggests calendar events. After you review and approve them, it adds those events to a calendar you choose in your connected Google account.

Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement to use CalScribe. You sign in using your Google account, and you are responsible for keeping that account secure and for the activity that occurs through your CalScribe account.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use CalScribe for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
  • Upload content you do not have the right to share, or content that infringes anyone’s rights;
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its systems;
  • Use the service to build a competing product or to abuse, resell, or exceed the usage limits described below.

Usage limits and pricing

CalScribe may limit how many schedules you can process in a given period. Some features may be free and others may require payment. If we introduce paid features, we will show the price and terms before you are charged. We may change limits, features, and pricing over time.

Your content

You keep all rights to the schedules and files you submit (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited permission to process Your Content solely to provide the service — for example, to read a schedule and create the events you approve. How we handle Your Content is described in our Privacy Policy.

Accuracy — please review before saving

CalScribe uses artificial intelligence to read schedules, and it can make mistakes— misreading a date, time, or detail, especially from photos. The review step exists for this reason: you are responsible for checking the suggested events before you approve them, and for confirming they are correct in your calendar. CalScribe is a helper, not a substitute for your own review.

Third-party services

CalScribe relies on third-party services, including Google and our artificial-intelligence provider. Your use of Google Calendar is also subject to Google’s own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and their availability may affect CalScribe.

Service provided “as is”

CalScribe is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that extracted events will be accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CalScribe and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, missed events, or scheduling errors, arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or twenty-five US dollars (US$25).

Suspension and termination

You may stop using CalScribe at any time and disconnect your Google account. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the service. You can request deletion of your account and data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. If you continue using CalScribe after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York.
